Saturday Evening Post cover, Dec 08, 1923.
In 1923, red and black were the only inks used to print The Saturday Evening Post. This, however, did not prevent Norman Rockwell from painting The Carolers in full color "just to make the original look better." Regarding the models, he recalled, "Posing for this December 8th cover was the nearest these carolers ever came to musical performance!"
